The chicken and the egg 2012

dir. Ewa Podgórska

A group of variously-aged women arrive in a large house in the country for what they refer to as 'the Circle', an informal gathering where the participants, away from the daily rhythms of their lives, share their experiences. The film tells a story of relationships between mothers and daughters who strive to overcome the pattern of unhappy lives and discover a path toward mutual understanding. Taking part in the 'women's circle' is intended to help them achieve this.

TODAY IN WARSAW, TOMORROW WHEREVER 2012

dir. Grzegorz Brzozowski

Two cups of hot chocolate with chilli, an illegal rubbish dump, men's socks on the hardwood floor and a jam doughnut. Vera from Germany and Stephan from Belgium meet in strange, cold Warsaw, to explore together the Praga district on the right side of the Vistula. They were brought together through Erasmus and couchsurfing. Grzegorz Brzozowski, director of the documentary presents the curses and blessings of a united Europe, which may, or may not, bring people closer together.

BON APETIT 2010

dir. Jakub Maciejko

It is a portrait of a small Polish catering business with carefully selected protagonists. She is always displeased, hoping to win a scratch lottery. He is a hardworking optimist, satisfied with their monotonous life in the centre of Warsaw, and yet out of the way. In their small establishment they prepare food for offices (that do not pay) and for few regular clients. An excellent depiction of the contemporary reality as seen from the perspective of a small business, yet with a universal message.
